Beer Spa History

The first spa were built in ancient China and Egypt where hot springs were used for personal hygiene, medical treatment and better immunity. The first beer spa was documented about 2000 years ago.

Beer baths, including beer drinking, were practiced by folk healers of the past – our grandmothers and great grandmothers recommended brewery yeast for the treatment of many ailments. Brewery yeast is a by-product of beer production. It has been used for medicinal purposes since antiquity.

After Karlovy Vary, MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNĚ (Marienbad) is the second most significant spa town of the Czech Republic. The spa was established a bit later than the neighbouring one, in 1528, when the King Ferdinand I first ordered the natural springs to be examined. The fame of the town grew and its heyday and the “golden age” of the town came in the mid-19th century. The crowded colonnades were walked on by Frédéric Chopin, J. W. Goethe, and Thomas Alva Edison.

We offer exclusive rentals for groups of up to 8 people for one hour in two completely authentic rooms – the Copper Room and the Brass Room. It is possible to increase the hourly capacity (up to 16 people per hour) upon personal consultation.
